Parents:Each year the Foundation invites teachers and administrators to apply for grants that enhance the educational experience of SHS students. All grants are discussed by the Foundation Board of Directors and must be approved by a majority vote. Any unused funds are saved by the Foundation so that it can periodically implement major infrastructure projects that require more funding than we can raise from donations in a single school year. The Foundation has traditionally focused on capital equipment and facilities. More recently we have expanded into funding programs and services for the social and emotional support of students, for example, our yearly grant to have CASSY therapists on campus. Grants awarded in the past few years are listed below. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected]. Thank you for your support! |
Teachers:The Foundation welcomes you to apply for grants funded by our generous donors. Your application should include the results you expect to achieve related to improving learning outcomes, as well as how you will evaluate/measure that improvement.
Grants should be for items for which you could find NO alternative funding sources, e.g., department funds, district funding / bond measures. The Foundation and PTSO use a common application system. After you submit your application we will decide which organization is best suited to fund your grant. Typically the Foundation funds capital equipment and larger purchases whereas the PTSO funds consumables and smaller purchases. Note that for computer equipment you will be redirected to the LGSUHSD Director of Instructional Technology's application. |
