Credit Card / Paypal

Use our Paypal portal to donate using either a credit card, funds in your Paypal account, or your bank checking account.

Please note that the Foundation pays a 2.9% Paypal processing fee for  donations made using a credit card.  If you want all of your donation to support students,  consider writing a check.  Of course, we are very happy to receive a donation whichever way is easiest for you!

Employer Matching

Many companies will match the donations that their employees make to non-profit organizations.

Please contact the Human Resources department of your company to find out how.  The SHS Foundation cannot initiate the process -- only the employee can do this.

The SHS Foundation is registered on all of the major donation systems used by companies in the Bay Area.  If your company system does not list us by name, try looking under our tax ID number, 77-0557371.  If your employer cannot find us, please let us know by emailing [email protected]  

Stock Gifting

A donation of appreciated stock allows you to give at least 20% more than if you donate the equivalent cash.  Why?  Because you don't pay capital gains tax on the donated shares.  Plus, you are still eligible to deduct the full fair-market value of the shares from your income taxes, up to the overall amount allowed by the IRS.

We will send you the Foundation's brokerage account information so you can have your brokerage agent transfer the stock to us.  ​

Car or Boat Donation

To donate a car, truck, boat, RV, or trailer, please visit vehiclesforcharity.com  
  
If it's on wheels they'll take it, even if it is not running!  

Type in your name, email, and the charity name "Saratoga High School Foundation".  (Do NOT select "Saratoga Educational Foundation", which is the K-8 foundation.  But we encourage you to donate there too if you have kids in elementary or middle school.)

Vehicles for Charity will pick up your vehicle within 48 hours, and handle all the DMV paperwork.  There is no cost to you.  After auctioning your vehicle, they will give us the proceeds minus their commission. 

Donor Recognition

We recognize donors with commemorative tiles mounted at the entrance of Falcon Stadium:

  • Total donations must be at least $1600 to qualify
  • Tiles come in various colors and sizes depending on your level of giving
  • Total donations include your personal donations as well as any corporate matches
  • Donors can wait to accumulate donations and qualify for a higher level tile at a future date
  • Donors can request a new tile even if they already have existing tiles

  • Donor Level $1600
  • Founder Level $3200
  • Advocate Level $4800
  • Philanthropist Level $9600
  • Underwriter Level $20,000
  • President's Circle $40,000
  • Leadership Circle $75,000

Tax Information

The Saratoga High School Foundation is a charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, tax ID # 77-0557371

The Foundation typically mails its donors a hard copy receipt letter for tax purposes in early February for the preceding tax year.  If you need your letter earlier, please email us at [email protected]
